2016 - 2022EventsEvents I’ve spearheaded or assisted in organizing within Seacoast NH & Northshore MA Poster by Alex Keown. Rock Water Film Festival aims to project the visions and voices of independent, DIY filmmakers. We welcome the weird, low-budget films that artists of all kinds create. Founded in 2017 by Alex Keown and Darcie Blake, anything is fair game with Rock Water. Whatever you want to create, we want you to share it with us. Poster by Alex Keown. In 2020, we switched our format from a several hours long, indoor event at Sue's Space to a condensed, 2 1/2 hour long drive-in event held in the parking lot of the Dover Ice Arena. This proved to be a hit, and we've stuck with the outdoor format since. We now include closed captioning with all our short film lineup. Weekly event I host at Wrong Brain. Free of charge, sober, all materials provided. Poster by Alex Keown. RWFF is honored to have shown the work of hundreds of different filmmakers across New England, and we have raised thousands of dollars to support Wrong Brain and its associated orgs. Poster by Alex Keown, digitally altered by me. Brought Rock Water Film Festival to Montserrat and the greater Beverly community, November 2018. Included the same lineup of films shown at the larger iteration of RWFF in summer 2018 (held at Sue's Space). Created social media content, vended Wrong Brain booth, and hosted event. Fall 2018. Poster by Adam Gouveia. "Takedown Wrestling" was a live wrestling comedy show (2016- 2019) that showed annually between Wrong Brain and Sue's Space and acted as a major fundraiser for both orgs. About a dozen local artists, musicians & other creatives would spend several months creating characters, storylines, and choreography. The show had several major continuing plot lines: for example, my character, the bratty, entitled and neurotic Skimmed Milk frequently butted heads with her nemesis Vertexo, a lackadaisical, alcoholic superhero. We were the subjects for this promotional poster. Another "Takedown Wrestling" poster. By Ryan Harrison. Winter 2018. Poster by Adam Gouviea. Takedown Music & Arts Festival (2009 -2019) was a day-long music fest held between Nottingham and Strafford, NH. Live music and vendors (including Wrong Brain) were around during the day, and at night we would perform blockbuster movie reenactments ("E.T.", "Jurassic Park", and "Batman") or original plays, directed and written by Joey Pratt. I vended the Wrong Brain booth and acted in four performances (between 2015 and 2019) during its run. Poster by Cara Cabral. "Enchanted Forest" prom, the second prom by Wrong Brain. I came up with the concept and title and created the life-size unicorn paper mache sculpture for this event, created and hung up decorations, and volunteered throughout the evening. Enchanted Forest was held at Sue's Space, November 2019. Poster by Adam Gouviea. "Cosmic Prom" was the first prom organized by Wrong Brain and took place at now-defunct Shogun Restaurant in November 2016. I came up with the title and concept of the event, and created social media content, promotional merch, decorations, enlisted donors for the event, and volunteered night-of. Poster by me.
